City of York Girls Football League
The City of York Girls Football League (CYGFL) is an amateur football league for girls in York, England. It was founded in 1999 and currently has over 100 teams registered. The league runs a variety of divisions for girls of all ages and abilities, from U9s to U18s.
History
The CYGFL was founded in 1999 by a group of parents who wanted to provide more opportunities for girls to play football in York. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years. In 2019, the league had over 100 players registered. The league is affiliated with the North Riding County FA and follows its rules and regulations. The league also has a code of conduct that all players and coaches are expected to uphold.
Divisions
The CYGFL runs a variety of divisions for girls of all ages and abilities, from U9s to U18s. The divisions are split into two groups: Development and Competitive. The Development divisions are for players who are new to football or who are looking to improve their skills. The Competitive divisions are for players who are looking to play more challenging football.
