History

The Chesterfield Sunday League was founded in 1920 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially consisted of just 6 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams.
The league has been sponsored by a number of different companies over the years, including Steelmelters FC, John Pye FC, and Grassmoor Sports. The current sponsor is Steelmelters FC.
