Cheshire & Manchester Sunday League
The Cheshire & Manchester Sunday League is an amateur football league in the English counties of Cheshire and Greater Manchester. It is one of the largest Sunday leagues in England, with over 200 clubs and 3,000 players.
History
The league was founded in 1920 as the Cheshire Sunday League. It was renamed the Cheshire & Manchester Sunday League in 1974.
The league has been won by a variety of clubs over the years, including Stockport County, Macclesfield Town, and Stalybridge Celtic.
Structure
The league is divided into two divisions: Division One and Division Two. Each division has 16 teams.
The season runs from September to May, with each team playing each other team twice.
Promotion and relegation
The top two teams in Division Two are promoted to Division One, while the bottom two teams in Division One are relegated to Division Two.
Cup competitions
The league also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Cheshire & Manchester Sunday League Cup, the Cheshire & Manchester Sunday League Trophy, and the Cheshire & Manchester Sunday League Challenge Cup.
