Cherry Red Books Middlesex County Football League
The Cherry Red Books Middlesex County Football League is an amateur football league in the English county of Middlesex. It was founded in 1984 and currently has 83 teams competing in 7 divisions. The league is a member of the National League System and is at levels 11-13 of the English football pyramid.
The league champions are promoted to the Combined Counties League, while the bottom teams in each division are relegated to the Middlesex County Football League Division One. The league also has a cup competition, the Middlesex Senior Cup, which is open to all teams in the league and the Combined Counties League.
History
The Cherry Red Books Middlesex County Football League was founded in 1984 by a merger of the Middlesex Alliance Football League and the Middlesex County Football League. The league's first chairman was John Sadler.
The league has grown steadily since its formation and now has 83 teams competing in 7 divisions. The league has also been successful in developing young players, with a number of former players going on to play professional football.
Current season
The 2022-23 season is the 39th season of the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County Football League. The current champions are Ashford Town (Middlesex), who won the title in 2021-22.
The current season began on 20 August 2022 and is scheduled to end on 27 May 2023. The league champions will be promoted to the Combined Counties League, while the bottom teams in each division will be relegated to the Middlesex County Football League Division One.
