Cheltenham Youth Football League

The Cheltenham Youth Football League (CYFL) is an amateur football league for children and young people in the Cheltenham area. It is affiliated with the Football Association (FA) and is one of over 300 junior grassroots football leagues in England.

History

The CYFL was founded in 1967 and has been running continuously ever since. It currently has over 200 teams competing in a variety of age groups, from Under-7s to Under-18s.

Structure

The CYFL is divided into three divisions:

• Division One
• Division Two
• Division Three

Teams are promoted and relegated between divisions based on their performance at the end of each season.

Competitions

The CYFL organizes a variety of competitions throughout the season, including:

• League Cup
• FA Youth Cup
• County Cup
• Development League

The League Cup is open to all teams in the CYFL, while the FA Youth Cup and County Cup are open to the top teams in the league. The Development League is designed for teams that are not ready to compete at the highest level.
