Champions Leuge
The Champions Leuge is an amateur football league in the Netherlands. It is the highest level of amateur football in the country, and is contested by 20 teams.
The league was founded in 2010, and is currently sponsored by the Dutch lottery. The champions of the league are promoted to the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of professional football in the Netherlands.
How the league works
The Champions Leuge is a round-robin league, with each team playing each other team twice, once home and once away. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Tweede Divisie, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Derde Divisie.
The league also has a cup competition, the Champions Leuge Cup. The cup is open to all teams in the league, and is played in a knockout format. The winner of the cup qualifies for the next season's UEFA Europa Conference League.
