About the Champions League
The Champions League is an amateur football league in the Netherlands. It is the highest level of amateur football in the country, and is contested by the top 24 teams in the Dutch football league system.
The league was founded in 1971, and is currently sponsored by BetCity. The current champions are VVSB, who won the title in the 2022-2023 season.
How the league works
The Champions League is a single-elimination tournament. The teams are seeded into four groups of six, and each team plays each of the other teams in their group once. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage.
The knockout stage consists of a round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final. The final is played at a neutral venue, and the winner is crowned champions of the Champions League.
