Britannia Lanes Taunton & District Saturday League
The Britannia Lanes Taunton & District Saturday League is a football league in Somerset, England. It was founded in 1905 and currently consists of 14 divisions, with teams ranging from junior to senior level.
The league is affiliated to the Somerset Football Association and is a member of the Western League. The winners of each division are promoted to the next level, while the bottom teams are relegated.
History
The league was founded in 1905 as the Taunton & District Saturday League. It was renamed the Britannia Lanes Taunton & District Saturday League in 1980.
The league has seen a number of changes over the years. In 1972, the league was split into two divisions, with the top division becoming the Britannia Lanes Taunton & District League. In 1992, the league was further split into three divisions, with the top division becoming the Britannia Lanes Premier Division.
The league has also seen a number of clubs come and go. Some of the most successful clubs in the league's history include Taunton Town, Wellington, and Chard Town.
