Bristol U18 Football Combination League

The Bristol U18 Football Combination League is an amateur football league for under-18 teams in the Bristol area. It was founded in 2004 and currently has four divisions: Premier, Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3.

The league is affiliated with the Football Association (FA) and its matches are played under FA rules. The season runs from September to April, with each team playing each other team in their division twice. The top teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the next lower division.

History

Bristol U18 Football Combination League action

The Bristol U18 Football Combination League was founded in 2004 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league was originally created to provide an opportunity for under-18 players in the Bristol area to continue playing competitive football after they had finished playing in the Avon Youth League.

The league has grown steadily since its inception and now has over 60 teams competing in four divisions. The league is well-respected in the local football community and its matches are played in good spirit.

Divisions

  • Premier Division: The Premier Division is the top division in the Bristol U18 Football Combination League. It is made up of the best teams in the league and the standard of football is very high.
  • Division 1: Division 1 is the second tier of the Bristol U18 Football Combination League. It is made up of teams that are not quite as good as the teams in the Premier Division, but they are still playing good football.
  • Division 2: Division 2 is the third tier of the Bristol U18 Football Combination League. It is made up of teams that are still developing and learning the game.
  • Division 3: Division 3 is the fourth and lowest tier of the Bristol U18 Football Combination League. It is made up of teams that are just starting out in the game.

Bristol U18 Football Combination League match

The Bristol U18 Football Combination League awards trophies to the winners of each division at the end of the season. The trophies are:

  • Premier Division Trophy
  • Division 1 Trophy
  • Division 2 Trophy
  • Division 3 Trophy

The league also awards a number of individual trophies, including:

  • Golden Boot: Awarded to the player who scores the most goals in the league
  • Golden Glove: Awarded to the goalkeeper who keeps the most clean sheets in the league
  • Player of the Year: Awarded to the player who is judged to have been the best player in the league
