Bridgend and District Football League
The Bridgend and District Football League is an amateur football league covering the town of Bridgend and surrounding areas in South Wales. The leagues are at the eighth, ninth and tenth levels of the Welsh football league system.
History
The league was founded in 1922. The current champions are Caerau All Whites, who won the Premier Division in 2022-23.
Structure
The league consists of three divisions: Premier Division, Division One, and Division Two. Each division has 12 teams.
The top two teams in the Premier Division are promoted to the South Wales Alliance League. The bottom two teams in the Premier Division are relegated to Division One.
The top two teams in Division One are promoted to the Premier Division. The bottom two teams in Division One are relegated to Division Two.
The top two teams in Division Two are promoted to Division One. The bottom two teams in Division Two are relegated to the Bridgend and District Sunday Football League.
Cup competitions
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including:
- WT John Open Cup
- Premier Division Cup
- Division One Cup
- Division Two Cup
The winners of these cups qualify for the Welsh Amateur Cup.
