Brentwood Sunday Football League
The Brentwood Sunday Football League (BSFL) is an amateur football league based in Brentwood, Essex, England. It was founded in 1960 and is affiliated to the Essex County Football Association.
The BSFL currently has 4 divisions: Senior Division, Division One, Division Two, and Division Three. Each division has 10 teams, playing each other twice in a season. The top two teams in each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the next lower division.
History
The BSFL was founded in 1960 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season saw 10 teams compete in a single division. The league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 40 teams competing in 4 divisions.
The BSFL has produced a number of talented players over the years, including former professional footballers such as Mark Wright and Lee Sharpe.
Current Season
The current season of the BSFL began in September 2022 and is scheduled to end in May 2023. The current league leaders are Atletico Trotters, who are playing in the Senior Division.
The BSFL also has a number of cup competitions, including the Ken Robinson KO Cup, the Senior Division League Cup, and the Division One League Cup.
