Bridgend Port Talbot Junior Football League (BPTFL)
The Bridgend Port Talbot Junior Football League (BPTFL) is an amateur football league in the South of Wales. It was formed in 2019 by the merger of the Bridgend District Football League and the Port Talbot District Football League.
The BPTFL currently has 30 clubs affiliated to it, with teams competing in various age groups from Under 6s to Under 16s. The league also runs a number of cup competitions.
History
The Bridgend District Football League was founded in 1921, while the Port Talbot District Football League was founded in 1922. Both leagues were very successful in their own right, but the merger in 2019 created the largest junior football league in South Wales.
The BPTFL has been praised for its commitment to developing young footballers. The league has a strong focus on coaching and education, and it has produced a number of talented players who have gone on to play professional football.
Current season
The 2023-2024 season is the fifth season of the BPTFL. The league is currently sponsored by ITCS.
The current champions are Bryntirion Athletic, who won the league title in 2022-2023.
