Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League
The Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League is an amateur football league based in Essex, England. It was founded in 1976 and currently has 47 member clubs, with over 450 teams and more than 5000 players playing from U7 through to U18's across 44 divisions.
History
The league was formed in 1976 by a group of local football coaches and administrators who wanted to provide an organized competition for young players in the Blackwater and Dengie area. The league started out with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and is now one of the largest youth football leagues in Essex.
Structure
The league is divided into 44 divisions, with each division having a different age range and playing standard. The divisions are further subdivided into groups, with each group playing a round-robin format. The top teams in each group qualify for the playoffs, with the winners of the playoffs being crowned champions.
Cups
In addition to the league, the Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League also runs a number of cups. The most prestigious cup is the League Cup, which is open to all teams in the league. Other cups include the Challenge Cup, the Floodlit Cup, and the Junior Cup.
