Birmingham County Walking Football League
The Birmingham County Walking Football League is an amateur football league for people aged 50 and over. It is the largest affiliated Walking Football competition nationwide, with over 500 registered players.
The league was founded in 2018 by a group of football enthusiasts who wanted to create a more accessible and inclusive form of the sport. Walking Football is played at a slower pace than traditional football, and there are no running allowed. This makes it ideal for people of all ages and abilities.
The Birmingham County Walking Football League has five divisions, with teams competing in a round-robin format. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
The league also hosts a number of cup competitions, including the Birmingham County Cup and the FA Walking Football National Cup.
