The Birmingham & District Afa is an amateur association football competition covering the city of Birmingham, England, and the surrounding area, for football teams playing on a Saturday.
It was founded in 1908 and is one of the oldest football institutions in the UK. The league is composed of eight divisions, containing around 100 teams.
History
The Birmingham & District Afa was founded in 1908 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league's first season consisted of just four teams, but it has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in the UK.
The league has been home to some famous players over the years, including Geoff Hurst, Trevor Brooking, and Peter Shilton. In recent years, the league has also produced a number of professional footballers, including Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham.
Current season
The current season of the Birmingham & District Afa is the 2022-23 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Old Wulfrunians, while the Division One title is being contested by Boldmere Sports & Social and Sutton United.
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the Bill Cup, the Holder Cup, and the Jeffs Cup. The Bill Cup is the oldest cup competition in the league, and it is currently being held by Silhill.
