Belfast District Football League
The Belfast District Football League (BDFL) is an amateur football league in Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1918 during the First World War, when the Irish League was suspended. The BDFL is currently divided into five divisions: Premier, First Division, Second Division, Third Division, and Fourth Division.
History
The BDFL was founded in 1918 during the First World War, when the Irish League was suspended. The inaugural season was won by Belfast Celtic. The BDFL continued to operate during the Second World War, although the number of teams participating decreased significantly.
The BDFL has grown in popularity in recent years. In the 2022-23 season, there are over 100 teams competing in the league. The current champions are Glentoran Reserves.

The Premier Division is the top tier of the BDFL. The winner of the Premier Division is promoted to the Irish League Intermediate B Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the First Division.
The First Division is the second tier of the BDFL. The winner of the First Division is promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Second Division.
The Second Division is the third tier of the BDFL. The winner of the Second Division is promoted to the First Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Third Division.
The Third Division is the fourth tier of the BDFL. The winner of the Third Division is promoted to the Second Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Fourth Division.
The Fourth Division is the fifth and lowest tier of the BDFL. The winner of the Fourth Division is promoted to the Third Division.
