The Airdrie and Coatbridge Sunday AFL is an amateur football league based in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It was founded in 1973 and currently has over 60 clubs competing in three divisions.
History
The Airdrie and Coatbridge Sunday AFL was founded in 1973 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 60 clubs competing in three divisions.
The league has been won by a variety of clubs over the years, but the most successful team is Airdrie Community, who have won the title 13 times. Other successful clubs include Coatbridge Cowboys, Drumpellier Dynamo, and Eastend Athletic.
Current season
The 2023-2024 season is currently underway. The Railway Garage Premier Division is the top division, and it is currently being led by Airdrie Community. The Sublime Design Championship Division is the second division, and it is currently being led by Coatbridge Cowboys. The BE Teamwear First Division is the third division, and it is currently being led by Drumpellier Dynamo.
