The Airdrie & Coatbridge Sunday AFL was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has 20 teams competing in four divisions.
The league has been won by a variety of teams over the years, but the most successful team is Airdrie Thistle, which has won the league title 12 times. Other successful teams include Airdrie United, Coatbridge Thistle, and Drumpellier Dynamo.
Current Season
The current season of the Airdrie & Coatbridge Sunday AFL is the 2023-2024 season. The league is divided into four divisions: the Railway Garage Premier Division, the Central Division, the East Division, and the West Division.
The top two teams from each division at the end of the season will qualify for the promotion play-offs. The bottom two teams from each division will be relegated to the next lower division.
