4de Afdeling Arbeidersvoetbal
The 4de Afdeling Arbeidersvoetbal (4th Division Workers' Football) is a football league in the Netherlands. It is the lowest tier of football in the Netherlands, and is organized by the KNVB. The league is made up of amateur clubs, and is played in a round-robin format.
History
The 4de Afdeling Arbeidersvoetbal was founded in 1946. It was originally created as a way for amateur clubs to compete against each other, without having to worry about the pressure of playing in the higher divisions. The league has grown steadily over the years, and now consists of over 1,000 clubs.
Structure
The 4de Afdeling Arbeidersvoetbal is divided into 24 districts. Each district has its own champion, who qualifies for the national playoffs. The national playoffs are held at the end of the season, and the winner is crowned the national champion of the 4de Afdeling Arbeidersvoetbal.
