1st Regional Amateur Football League
The 1st Regional Amateur Football League (Turkish: Bölgesel Amatör Ligi, abbreviated BAL) is the fifth tier of the Turkish football league system. It is a regional league, with each group comprising teams from a particular region.
History
The BAL was founded in 1967 as the Amateur League. It was renamed the Regional Amateur League in 1984.
Structure
The BAL is divided into 13 groups, each of which consists of 14 teams. The teams play each other twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams in each group are promoted to the TFF Third League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Super Amateur Leagues of their respective provinces.
